Penny Black Saturday Challenge wk 84

Decided to get my act together and enter the Penny Black Saturday Challenge wk 84, which is a colour challenge. It is to be a Penny Black stamp and then use the colours Blue,Cream and Gold. What a lovely colour combo that is. So below is my entry:-

I stamped the image in Gold and heat embossed with gold powder. I then coloured the flowers blue with Copics and layered onto blue and gold card. I used my Martha Stewart doiley punch down the edge and layered a piece of gold card underneath. I then added ribbon, flower and sentiment tag. I distressed a little here and there with a creamy brown  liquid chalk pad.

Off to link this up now - I'm so out of practice. Thanks for dropping by.

Wow A Post At Last

Happy New Year Peeps.... Hope you all had a great Christmas too. Have been busy doing other things (mostly eating chocolate and watching TV ...shame on me!) Haven't done any cardmaking since before christmas hence the lack of posts. So this is a catch up post to show you some of the cards I made previously and a couple of beautiful cards I received from other lovely people. In my defence it has been very cold here as I'm sure a lot of you are experiencing  too and  going up into the freezing cold loft which would take a weeks wages to heat before I could get in is out of the question. So to start us off is the beautiful card I received from my blogging friend Nadia aka Diana Scarlett.

Isn't she lovely...I love the style of this card and the lots of layers, the swirls are on acetate layered over the backig papers, beautiful .. thanks so much Nadia. Nadia had also taken the time to decorate the inside and the back of her card.Do check out her blog via the link above she makes beautiful and original pieces.

Next up is a lovely card I received from my youngest Daughter Phoebe. Phoebe made the card at school and I think it's a lovely fun christmas card. Well done Phoebe.

The next 2 cards are Christmas cards I made for my daughters,  both with Magnolia Tilda stamps

I love this stamp and I think it will always be a favourite. I coloured her using copics and the little hanging heart ( below) is also Magnolia.

Here ( below) is a close up of Tilda herself...

Here is the other card again coloured with copics.

..and a close up of the Magnolia sentiment embellisment that I added stickles glitter glue to.

Last up is the Birthday card I made for Phoebe.

Well thanks for looking and I hope everyone has a great start to the year, hopefully it will warm up a bit soon and I'll be able to get up in the loft where my craft stuff is.(I can hear it calling to me..lol)
Bye for now.

A Couple of Lil' Christmas Cards

Here's a couple of cards I made last week towards my Christmas box.(still need to do a lot more to catch up though)
First up is this little Penny Black stamp that is just soooo cute. Stamped and coloured with copics and layered onto green card and DCWV backing papers. Added glitter, ribbon, buttons and the Stamps Away sentiment layered onto a nestability circle.
This next card is also a Penny Black stamp that I've had for a long time. I stamped and coloured with copics cut the wreath out and put Chrystal lacquer on it to make it shine. I layered it onto the front of the card and just added the ribbon and sentiment to keep it simple.

Have a nice day

50th Birthday Card

Oh dear, I don't know about you but I don't often make cards to order but when your boss at work asks you to make one - what do you do- Oh heck I said O.K. Then because the card is for someone ( if you know what I mean) my ideas just dry up. So this card took me aaaallllll day Sunday (I was so annoyed with myself) I just couldn't think what to do or how to place it, what colours to use etc etc.....it drove me mad and I don't think I like it anyway. Not sure at all.....

Cupcake stamp - Hero Arts
Backing paper - Bo bunny
Numbers - Sizzix
Circles - Nestabilities
Coloured With - Copics
Flowers -various
Foliage - Punch
Border Punch - Martha Stewart
Sentiment - Craftwork cards
and of course obligatory bling.....

Aaahhh well she'll either like it or she wont...LOL

More Quick Christmas Cards

Just a quick post with some quicky Christmas cards I've made to make sure I'm on target with enough cards and in time.(here's hoping)when I say quick I mean quick for me cause I spend ages agonising over backing papers!!! (I drive myself batty with them sometimes) They are a bit easier because they are only small cards.

(Above)Cute snowman stamp coloured with copics and layered onto glitter card and DCWV backing paper. I added ribbon and a punched heart.

(Above) Stampendous stamp coloured with Copics.

Backing Paper - Peace on Earth Collection from Creative Cardmaking Magazine
Buttons and Sentiment - Dress It Up from Craftime
Ovals - cut with Nestabilities

And last but not least Glitter Glue......

40th Birthday Card

Morning All, just a quick post to show you the card I have made for my Sister-In-Law who is 40 this week. I stamped the image with black pigment ink and heat embossed with clear powder. I bought the stamp off e-bay a while ago now and unfortunately don't know who the manufacturer is as I think she's great. The backing paper is fab Doodlebug and yes I have succumbed to the MS doily punch (love it). The numbers were cut on the Sizzix and layered onto punched plain and scalloped circles. I nicked the sentiment of a card I received myself last year (waste not, want not LOL)

Have A good day, I'm off to work now.

Small Christmas Cards

Have been trying to catch up with making enough Christmas cards so have been making some little ones that are quick and easy to put together once the image has been coloured.

I haven't got the stamp info to hand as I'm doing this downstairs and the stamps are in the loft. I know the sheep is Penny Black and I think the Snowman is Stampendous but will have to check back. I used the Swiss dots cuttlebug folder on the Sheep card.
Hope you all out there are also making progress with your Christmas cards too!!!

Enjoy

Gosh How long Since My Last Post?

Toooooooo long! I've hardly made any cards of late and I really need to get my act together if I'm to make all my Christmas cards on time. So here's my first attempt in months.

Covered a card in red patterned paper.Made the snowman on the Sizzix machine and layered him up. Added sentiment, punched snowflakes and holly leaves, and glitter.

Have made some more cards but need to take photos again as the ones I took are full of shadows in wrong places.
I will be back!!!!!!!

Woohooo I won Blog Candy

How happy am I? Well very, I won one of the prizes on the new The Next Level Challenge Blog. I couldn't believe it I've never won one before so I was over the moon. Can't wait to get my hands on it and have a play.

Well after winning their candy I couldn't not enter there new challenge now could I?
Here is the challenge description-

Our very first Challenge is to make an Aperture/Cut out Card - that is a card with an opening in the front. There are no restrictions on the size of the opening, where it is placed, or the size and shape of your card - you decide. We felt that by giving you this flexibility we will all hopefully see a wide range of different ideas and styles that we can share and gain new inspiration from in our own future creations. There is one additional compulsory element though - your card must have your own hand made faux Prima Lollipop flower/flowers on it. These flowers are really pretty, and quite easy to make. We had originally added a UTube video as a tutorial but unfortunately there has been problems with linking to this, however the photograph tutorial near the end of this Issue will allow you to read the make-up instructions on-line or print off as you wish. You can use one or any many flowers as you like, you can choose how many layers of papers in your flower and its size - its all down to you.

So below is my aperture card cut with a nestability. The image is a Fairy Doodles stamp coloured with Copics. I covered the card inside and out with backing paper and added 3d mushrooms and a nesty frame to the front along with the compulsory lollipop flower. This was the 2nd attempt at the flower as the first one just didn't work. I then added sentiment, paper lace edging, glitter and ribbon to finish.

Below is a close up of the faux lollipop flower.

and a close-up of the mushrooms.

If you haven't been to The Next Level Challenge blog yet, click on the link and take a peek. It promises to be a great place - more like an on-line magazine with hints, tips, tutorials and challenges too.

Take care
