Gosh How long Since My Last Post?

Toooooooo long! I've hardly made any cards of late and I really need to get my act together if I'm to make all my Christmas cards on time. So here's my first attempt in months.

Covered a card in red patterned paper.Made the snowman on the Sizzix machine and layered him up. Added sentiment, punched snowflakes and holly leaves, and glitter.

Have made some more cards but need to take photos again as the ones I took are full of shadows in wrong places.
I will be back!!!!!!!

Woohooo I won Blog Candy

How happy am I? Well very, I won one of the prizes on the new The Next Level Challenge Blog. I couldn't believe it I've never won one before so I was over the moon. Can't wait to get my hands on it and have a play.

Well after winning their candy I couldn't not enter there new challenge now could I?
Here is the challenge description-

Our very first Challenge is to make an Aperture/Cut out Card - that is a card with an opening in the front. There are no restrictions on the size of the opening, where it is placed, or the size and shape of your card - you decide. We felt that by giving you this flexibility we will all hopefully see a wide range of different ideas and styles that we can share and gain new inspiration from in our own future creations. There is one additional compulsory element though - your card must have your own hand made faux Prima Lollipop flower/flowers on it. These flowers are really pretty, and quite easy to make. We had originally added a UTube video as a tutorial but unfortunately there has been problems with linking to this, however the photograph tutorial near the end of this Issue will allow you to read the make-up instructions on-line or print off as you wish. You can use one or any many flowers as you like, you can choose how many layers of papers in your flower and its size - its all down to you.

So below is my aperture card cut with a nestability. The image is a Fairy Doodles stamp coloured with Copics. I covered the card inside and out with backing paper and added 3d mushrooms and a nesty frame to the front along with the compulsory lollipop flower. This was the 2nd attempt at the flower as the first one just didn't work. I then added sentiment, paper lace edging, glitter and ribbon to finish.

Below is a close up of the faux lollipop flower.

and a close-up of the mushrooms.

If you haven't been to The Next Level Challenge blog yet, click on the link and take a peek. It promises to be a great place - more like an on-line magazine with hints, tips, tutorials and challenges too.

Take care

Sketch Saturday #52

Hello, thought I'd better put my entry on quick for the <Sketch Saturday blog Challenge, before I run out of time to enter.

I really enjoyed doing this sketch and the card fell together quite easily with it. I decided to use green and yellow for a change as I tend to stick to alot of pink and purple on my cards. Coloured Tilda with Copics and layered her onto the sissix cut out and DCWV spotty papers. Added flowers, sentiment, brads, buttons and bling.

Here's a different view of the card.

Dragonfly Tilda

Wow 2 posts in a week --- I'm really getting back into this!!!! Not for long though as I wont be able to get up into my loft this coming week as hubby is on late shift and my eldest has got GCSE exams all week (poor thing)and needs to revise in the evenings so I must be on hand to provide cups of tea and biscuits and keep the little one from mithering her every 5 minutes.

So enough of me waffling, here's the card. Bought this stamps last weekend at the craft show I went to. Have seen her many times on other peoples cards and thought she was so cute. I coloured her with Copics in sort of dragonfly colours and glittered her wings and collar. Layered her onto some backing papers added ribbon, bow and flowers. The sentiment stamp is my daughters(not sure of make) layered onto a small nestability circle- also glittered.

Will be back later in the week to post my effort for the Penny Black Saturday challenge . So have a good week everyone and thanks for looking.

Hello I'm Still Here!!!

Hello, sorry I haven't updated in a while, I haven't got any real excuses other than I couldn't muster up the enthusiasm to get my butt up into the loft and get crafting. Anyway after visiting the Happy stampers Northwest stamp show at Port Sunlight it seems I purchased some enthusiasm along with some yummy new stamps!!Haha

Isn't she a beautiful stamp, I just couldn't leave her there. A stand called Paper Pleasures from Nova Scotia, Canada were selling them. she is called "Crystal" from a collection called Enchanted Hallow.

I stamped her in Versafine and coloured her with copics, I layered her onto card and "little sizzles" backing paper. I added the Sizzix die cut swirls, glitter glue, ribbon and sentiment.

Easter Bunny Boxes

Have made these little boxes for my children and a couple of the neighbours little girls. I cut the boxes from pink card with a sizzix bigz die and decorated them with the sizzix bunny cut out in white. I added various punched flowers, glitter glue, a decorative wire handle and ribbons.......and of course I filled them with choccy eggs as every good Easter Bunny should!!!

Have been off work this week but not got around to much crafting, blogging or blog hopping for that matter. I have been Prom dress shopping with my eldest daughter(don't even ask how that went :-( fence painting, house sorting and getting into motorcycle riding again :-) which was excellent.(see pic below)

Hope you are all having a lovely Easter break
See you soon

Penny Black Saturday Challenge Wk 41

_

Again another lovely challenge over at Penny Black Saturday Challenge BlogWk 41. The theme was doodling and I have added a little doodling around the edges of the layered card. I've made a Christmas card to add to my Christmas box. Stamped the mouse and coloured with Copics. Layered him onto coloured card and added the Sizzix cut star which I wrote the sentiment on and doodled around the edge. Applied another punched star, 2 punched snowflakes and ribbon. I'm not a great doodler but have just added touches here and there.

Another Cupcake

Hello Peeps,
Again, haven't been able to get much done as hubby on a late shift, and can't leave the kids on there own(as much as I'd like to do just that some nights - aaaaggghhhh)
So this is a make from last weekend that I've been saving to upload. The cupcake image and sentiments are Hero Arts stamped in Versafine Vintage Sepia and coloured with Copics, cut out and layered onto nestabilities and then on to DCWV backing paper. I then over stamped swirls onto the backing paper with a pink chalk pad. I used a sizzix die to cut the squiggly pink borders and glittered them with pink glitter. I layered the sentiments onto the card and added the various flowers to finish.

Ikea Pen pots

Thought i'd just add some piccies of my new pen pots that I got from Ikea this week. The 7 pots and the rail cost just over £5. They hang great on the slopey roof walls in my loft and I soon filled them up with all my pens and "must have to hand" tools. It's given me a bit more space on my work surface and I feel all tidy and organised now (for a while at least, until I fill it with more stuff)
Next up is the little set of Drawers on castors that I got from there too which were £20. Thought these were great because you can spend £20 on a plastic set that come apart every time you move them!! Or is that just me.LOL. Have filled these up now but have managed to stash alot of clutter away too.

Just thought I'd share

Magnolia Vs Stampavie Sketch Challenge

Had to have a go with the lovely sketch for this weeks Magnolia Vs Stampavie Challenge Its a really nice sketch to do. I used a stamped image kindly sent to me by Shelley at Minkie's Paper Paradise.I coloured her with copics and layered her onto card and backing paper(DCWV-Sweet Shop-I think) following the sketch. The flowers weren't in the sketch but I couldn't help but add them as the space was crying out for them! The swirls and heart border are cut on the sizzix and the sentiment printed on the P.C.
Hope you all have a good crafting weekend

Thankyou Card

Haven't been doing a lot of card making and blogging this last week. Have been busy working, going to parents evenings and watching toooooo much television,(excuses, excuses, excuses). Hope to pull my finger out this weekend. Went to Ikea on Thursday and bought a great rail with pots on for my pens etc to tidy my craft space up in loft, so can't wait to get up there and get making again. It's surprising how a bit of a spring clean can inspire you to get going again.( Will try and take some piccies of the pots - there great)

Just made a little Thankyou card for a neighbour of mine. Used a Penny Black stamp I bought a few weeks ago and hadn't used yet. Coloured image with Copics and layered onto card and co-ordinating backing paper. Added sentiment, flowers, ribbon, bling and glitter glue to finish.

Cupcake Card

Hello,
Made this card for my Cousins 21st Birthday. Didn't want to use the 21 as the main theme for the card so used these gorgeous Hero Arts Cupcake stamps. Stamped in Versafine and coloured with Copics and then layered using my nestability dies. Covered the card in pretty pink spotty paper first and then layered the various elements onto the card. Used Sizzlits to cut out "21" from matching glitter card.Finished off with Stickles glitter glue and real sugar cake sprinkles just for fun.

Thought I'd better have a go at this decorating inside lark!!!!

Covered the inside of the card with pretty pink paper and stamped another Hero Arts Cupcake to layer inside. The "Special Day" sentiment is an old PSX stamp that I love.Finished off the inside with glitter glue and ribbon.

This weeks challenge at Cute Card Thursday is "Signs Of Spring". So here is my attempt. Haven't used this Penny Black stamp in a long while but it is very sweet. I stamped, coloured with Copics and layered the image directly onto the card. I added the little fluffy tails, ribbon and buttons. A very simple card but cute too!

Cut the two circles with my nestabilities and added the sentiment. Added punched flowers and ribbons. Used Stickles glitter glue to finish.

Cute Card Thursday

Made a card for the Cute Card Thursday challenge blog. This weeks theme was "metallica" and for this i used a new "Maggie" Sugar Nellie stamp I had purchased at the weekend at The Stitch & Creative Crafts Show at Manchester Central.
I stamped her in Versamark Smokey Grey and then coloured her with copics. I followed an old Sketch Saturday sketch for the card. I layered glitter card and DCWV patterned backing paper and then for the "metallica" theme I added a strip of metallic gold card and a gold sentiment. To finish I added the little star buttons in matching colours.
Here's a picture below of the lots of layers on this card.
