Back With A Challenge - PBSC Week 198

Haven't done alot of Blogging lately but here is an offering. Have joined in with the Penny Black Saturday Challenge week 198. The Challenge this week is No Patterned Paper.
I can take no credit for the idea behind this card, I saw it on Kaths blog a long time ago, but thought it was a great idea for the stamp.

I stamped the image Penny Black "Whispers" onto coloured card and cut out and layered the flowers. I have used distress ink just to add a tinge of colour around the edges of the card. I then added the sentiment, bow and glitter glue.
Thanks for Looking

Penny Black Saturday Challenge Wk 142

The challenge this week at Penny Black Saturday Challenge is "Green" in honour of St Patricks Day. Had a think and out came my Penny Black frog collection. I love this happy little froggy.
I stamped and coloured in Copics and cut out with Nestabilites and layered onto green spotty paper. I added flowers, sentiment and the glitter ribbon strip which was an absolute bargain from the QVC shop in Shrewsbury (highly recommend it if your in the area. I got loads of sets of stuff all at £1.99 a pack) but then had to haul it around with us all day.
Here's the pic of us carrying all the bags of goodies from the QVC shop.

Have A Nice Weekend and hope the weather stays as good as it looks today for us all.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge Wk 139

The theme on the Penny Black Saturday Challenge this week is Men's Cards......ooohhhh not very clever at those. Gave it a go and came up with this.

They are so sweet aren't they standing on the little upturned plant pot to reach.
I coloured with copics and layered onto some craft card and then onto backing paper with suitable manly tones that came free with "Simply cards and Papercraft" magazine I added the heart (also free with same magazine) and sentiments and a little bit of garden twine to carry on the gardening theme. Last but not least I added the compulsory Stickles glitter glue in blue and green.
Thanks for visiting my blog

Penny Black Saturday Challenge Wk 101

This weeks lovely Penny Black Saturday Challenge  title is "Flowers". So I couldn't wait to use a new stamp callled "Gift of Flowers" that I purchased the week before. Very appropriate.

I stamped her and coloured her with Copics. I have to admit I copied the colours from the top of the stamp exactly as I thought she looked so lovely. I layered her onto a piece of black card and then onto "Doodlebug" red spotty paper. I added the ribbon , sentiment and flowers from stash and added a little bit of faux stitching around the edge.
And on the inside I put some of the spotty paper , an oval cut nestie and a few flowers to finish.
Thanks for looking and enjoy the nice weather while it lasts!

Penny Black Saturday Challenge Wk 97

Well after being selected as the prize winner for last weeks Penny Black Saturday Challenge I thought it only polite to enter this weeks challege too! LOL...This weeks Penny Black Saturday Challenge wk 97  is to use
MONOCHROMATIC BROWN
on your design... whatever it may be, card, box, notebook cover etc.

Well I knew I had some scrummy polka dot brown paper and a lovely Bear stamp that would lend itself to the project nicely.
I stamped the image in Versafine Vintage Sepia and coloured with Copics and cut him out, I then stamped him again onto an  oval nestability. Layered onto the gorgeous spotty paper. I punched a matching strip of card with a fiskars border punch. I added the "Stamps Away" sentiment, ribbon, punched flowers and of course some gold "stickles" glitter glue to finish.

I haven't spent the yummy Stitch 123 voucher I won from the challenge last week but it's burning a hole in my pocket as I speak...LOL

Thanks For Looking

Penny Black Saturday Challenge Wk 96

Heres my entry for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge wk 96. This weeks challenge is called "Buttons Galore" Well now, I love buttons and often add a few to my cards so this weeks challenge was a pleasure.

Stamped "Country Lady" PB stamp onto a  nestabilitie cut piece of card, coloured her with Copics and added teeny tiny buttons to the flower posy she is holding. Layered her onto a scalloped nestabilitie shape  and then onto some "Rose Garden" pretty backing paper by Papermania. Added the sentiment and flowers with button centres also.
Actually went and did my first bit of gardening of the year this afternoon (thats bad isn't it, it been April and all) Quite pleased with myself although i'm aching a bit now. Still got a long way to go with it but it's a start right!

Penny Black Saturday Challenge Wk 41

_

Again another lovely challenge over at Penny Black Saturday Challenge BlogWk 41. The theme was doodling and I have added a little doodling around the edges of the layered card. I've made a Christmas card to add to my Christmas box. Stamped the mouse and coloured with Copics. Layered him onto coloured card and added the Sizzix cut star which I wrote the sentiment on and doodled around the edge. Applied another punched star, 2 punched snowflakes and ribbon. I'm not a great doodler but have just added touches here and there.

Penny Black Saturday wk 35

Made this card for this weeks Penny Black Challenge. The theme was romance so I took the opportunity to use this lovely sentiment stamp from Penny black.
I also used a border stamp from Penny Black. I stamped them bothe directly onto the cream card and coloured some of the flowers and leaves with copics.

I used a Sizzix die for the heart and stamped some more with the border stamp over it. I added ribbon,a flower and a sentiment to make a card topper.

Here is a close up of the sentiment stamp.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge Wk 34

Haven't been able to do much crafting in the last few days, hubby was away at the weekend and now he's on a late shift and my youngest has been off school with a cold. I did manage to get up there for an hour earlier on and decided to do the Penny Black Challenge. This weeks challenge was to make a circle card.

The card was cut on the fold with nestabilities and then punched with a little hole punch all around the edge. I had the little bear stamped and coloured already ( my Mums stamp). I then layered on to a patterend backing paper and green DCWV card both cut with nestabilities. Punched a little purple heart and added the sentiment. Added ribbons, buttons and glitter glue to finish.

Sorry about the bad picture. Not alot of natural light around at the moment!!!!
Thanks for looking.

Happy 2009 and Getting Back to Cardmaking With the Penny Black Challenge

Hello All and A Happy 2009

I haven't done any cardmaking for quite a few weeks now and so I haven't had anything to put on my blog. I found my way back into my craft space in the loft on Sunday afternoon and after leaving the heater on for a few minutes to warm it all up and get the blood flowing decided to do the Penny Black Challenge to ease me back in nicely. I think I had too much else going on before Christmas (you know how it is)new job, present buying, decorating the lounge before I could even think about the tree, shopping and more shopping. So anyway back to it.

The Challenge was to use Pink and Brown colour scheme along with any Penny Black Image. I stamped the mouse in Versafine vintage sepia twice,I coloured one image with Copics ( I did get some for my Birthday- yummy yummy)cut it out and layered onto the other image which I had stamped onto a nestability oval. Added ribbon, sentiment, paper flowers and pearl gems. Layered onto larger oval nestability and stuck onto card covered in pink backing paper.

Thanks to everyone who dropped by in 2008.
It's good to be back and looking forward to sharing in 2009,

Penny Black Saturday Challenge 13

So managed to grab a little play time yesterday and to get me started again I decided to do the Penny Black Saturday Challange The challenge this week is simply "One for the Girls." I had a dig around and stamped this oh so cute Penny Black stamp called "Opening Night" in Smokey Grey versafine and water coloured her. I stamped her twice and layered her and the dog on foam pads. The sentiment stamp is from Hero Arts which I used a brush pen to colour and then added glitter over the top. I added little buttons and a flower with a brad in the middle from my stash.

Well I've been busy packing to go away but I have managed to do 1 challenge before I go. I had a go at the Penny Black Saturday Challenge which my daughter Chloe was lucky enough to win last week and I can confirm that the Tinker & Co, Gingerbread cookies download she won is delightful. (mmm need more printer ink!!!!)

This week the challenge was to use the sketch below to create a card as long as you include at least 1 Penny Black image. I decided to do another Christmas card to add to my box. I stamped the little mouse and water coloured him in. The backing papers are all DCWV. I punched snowflakes from metal foil and added ribbon from stash.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge

Here's my entry to the Penny Black Saturday Challenge. You were asked to make something with the first Penny Black stamp you ever bought. Well I searched in my stamp drawers and came out with this one. I'm not totally sure it was my first but I had written 1996 on the side of it in pen so it must be one of my first purchased. It's such a nice stamp to make tags for presents with. I used my snowflake cuttlebug embossing folder to emboss the card front and added ribbon and trim. The snowflake is a punch out.
