Two Challenges.

Have excelled myself this week and made a card that incorparates 2 Blog challenges. Unheard of for me - I'm never that organised. So below this card is for the The Cute Card Thursday Blog Which is a Sketch by Andrea to follow and also for the Just Magnolia Challenge Blog where the theme is "Anything Goes"

So Changed the sketch a little with the shapes but the basic layout is the same.
I stamped and coloured Tilda with Copics, cut her out and layered her onto nestabilities, one from plain card edged with distress inks and the other with backing paper. Cut and punched a strip of "Little Sizzles" backing paper with Martha Stewart Doily punch to put across the middle. Added the flowers that I coloured with a chalk pad, "Craftwork Cards" sentiment and lashings of gold "Stickles". Edged the main card with distress ink too.
I decorated the inside too with some DCWV backing paper and a Nestabilty edged with Distress ink and gold "Stickles"

Off to work now, have a good day

Over stamped backing paper with white liquid chalk snowflakes. Added punched out snowflakes (beautiful Martha Stewart punch) and added buttons.

More Quick Christmas Cards

Just a quick post with some quicky Christmas cards I've made to make sure I'm on target with enough cards and in time.(here's hoping)when I say quick I mean quick for me cause I spend ages agonising over backing papers!!! (I drive myself batty with them sometimes) They are a bit easier because they are only small cards.

Sketch Saturday #52

Hello, thought I'd better put my entry on quick for the <Sketch Saturday blog Challenge, before I run out of time to enter.

I really enjoyed doing this sketch and the card fell together quite easily with it. I decided to use green and yellow for a change as I tend to stick to alot of pink and purple on my cards. Coloured Tilda with Copics and layered her onto the sissix cut out and DCWV spotty papers. Added flowers, sentiment, brads, buttons and bling.

Here's a different view of the card.

Take care

Another Cupcake

Hello Peeps,
Again, haven't been able to get much done as hubby on a late shift, and can't leave the kids on there own(as much as I'd like to do just that some nights - aaaaggghhhh)
So this is a make from last weekend that I've been saving to upload. The cupcake image and sentiments are Hero Arts stamped in Versafine Vintage Sepia and coloured with Copics, cut out and layered onto nestabilities and then on to DCWV backing paper. I then over stamped swirls onto the backing paper with a pink chalk pad. I used a sizzix die to cut the squiggly pink borders and glittered them with pink glitter. I layered the sentiments onto the card and added the various flowers to finish.

Magnolia Vs Stampavie Sketch Challenge

Had to have a go with the lovely sketch for this weeks Magnolia Vs Stampavie Challenge Its a really nice sketch to do. I used a stamped image kindly sent to me by Shelley at Minkie's Paper Paradise.I coloured her with copics and layered her onto card and backing paper(DCWV-Sweet Shop-I think) following the sketch. The flowers weren't in the sketch but I couldn't help but add them as the space was crying out for them! The swirls and heart border are cut on the sizzix and the sentiment printed on the P.C.
Hope you all have a good crafting weekend

Cute Card Thursday

Made this card last night and thought after it might fit in with the Cute Card Thursday challenge which is "music and dance".The stamp is a Penny Black stamp called "frolic" and he looks like he's dancing along full of happiness.
I stamped him in versamark Vintage sepia and coloured with Copics. I layered onto green card and then backing paper from a new DCWV pad called "sweet stack" and it's yummy. Cut the two circles with my nestabilities and added the sentiment. Added punched flowers and ribbons. Used Stickles glitter glue to finish.

Cute Card Thursday

Made a card for the Cute Card Thursday challenge blog. This weeks theme was "metallica" and for this i used a new "Maggie" Sugar Nellie stamp I had purchased at the weekend at The Stitch & Creative Crafts Show at Manchester Central.
I stamped her in Versamark Smokey Grey and then coloured her with copics. I followed an old Sketch Saturday sketch for the card. I layered glitter card and DCWV patterned backing paper and then for the "metallica" theme I added a strip of metallic gold card and a gold sentiment. To finish I added the little star buttons in matching colours.
Here's a picture below of the lots of layers on this card.

Christmas Puddy Cat

Got this Penny Black stamp from Happy Stampers Northwest stamp festival a couple of weeks ago. Have seen it around for quite a while and decided to buy it as it is sooooo cute. Stamped in Versafine Smokey Grey and water coloured. Both the backing papers are DCWV but from different Christmas pads. The sentiment is Stamps Away and layered on to a nestability scalloped circle. Added punched holly leaves, Button, and ribbon from stash. Put Stickles Glitter glue on to finish.
The card doesn't look so garish IRL but the photo was taken when the light was going.

Old Sketch Saturday Christmas Card

Downloaded this sketch a while back from the Sketch Saturday Challenge blog but never got around to using it so I decided to have a play with it the other night.

Used an old Penny black stamp for the image stamped in Versafine Smokey Grey and water coloured. The red backing paper is from a DCWV pad and the spotty one is from a K and Co pad. I distressed and chalked all the edges to give it an "oldy worldy" feel. Added punched out holly leaves, buttons and ribbon from stash. Of course I added plenty of Stickles glitter glue - cos that's the law!!!!

Sketch Saturday #18

I've made this card for the Sketch Saturday challenge. I haven't strictly followed the sketch but I think it's close enough.
The stamp is an old Penny Black stamp which I stamped twice in Versafine Smokey Grey and watercoloured. I cut out the snowmen line up and layered on to the first image. The dark blue backing card is from a DCWV pad and the spotty glitter card is from stash. I stamped and heat embossed the Stamps Away sentiment circle in blue, which I then cut out with a punch and used a nestability die for the scalloped circle behind. Added the strip of white glitter card and again the dark blue DCWV card, punched out some silver snowflakes, and added glitter glue to finish - of course.

Pudding Family Portrait

Just a really quick last minute post for Cute Card Thursday. The theme was food so I used (borrowed) this stamp from my daughters collection. Stamped and watercoloured and then layered onto DCWV backing paper. The little gold frame is one I've had in my stash for a long time. Added gold ribbon to make it look like a hanging picture in a frame on a wall. Holly and buttons also from stash. The picture hasn't come out very well as I scanned rather than photographed the card. It has cut some of the outside of the card away. Don't know why!!

Signing Off For A Few Weeks

Well I've been busy packing to go away but I have managed to do 1 challenge before I go. I had a go at the Penny Black Saturday Challenge which my daughter Chloe was lucky enough to win last week and I can confirm that the Tinker & Co, Gingerbread cookies download she won is delightful. (mmm need more printer ink!!!!)

This week the challenge was to use the sketch below to create a card as long as you include at least 1 Penny Black image. I decided to do another Christmas card to add to my box. I stamped the little mouse and water coloured him in. The backing papers are all DCWV. I punched snowflakes from metal foil and added ribbon from stash.

Just a reminder, if you haven't already joined Katharina's Blog candy give away, you still have time to join in. Katharina is celebrating 100,000 hits (wow) by giving away a set of Elisabeth Bell Guardian Angels plus another identical set so you can host your own blog candy giveaway. Click on the link above for more details of what to do. You have until 8pm on the 16th of August to enter.

Sorry this is just a quick post as I've still got lots to do ( don't want OH to be able to say that great line -"didn't YOU pack that" AAhhhhhh!

Will be AWOL for a few weeks until I catch up on the holiday washing when we get back and get little one settled into primary school but I'm sure the loft will be calling me - in fact I'm sure I can here the ink pads shouting my name even now.LOL.

Yellow and Blue Tilda !!

Thought I'd have a bit of a change colour wise as I'm a bit of a slave to pretty pinks and purples when I'm card making. So I went for this blue and yellow combo.

Stamped Tilda in versafine smokey grey and watercoloured her. Used yellow card as a base and DCWV paper pad for the blue circle. Used my nestabilities for the scalloped circle and punched little flowers our of red/pink card to match. I cut some flowers out of the blue backing paper to decorate the corner and added the sentiment plus some stickles here and there.

Christmas Lamp Tilda

Went up in the loft last night to craft and my eldest daughter Chloe came too. We had a couple of hours crafting together which we haven't done for a while because she usually has lots of homework from school to do. Now it's coming to the end of school year it's eased off a bit for her and she has some more free time to craft.
I made a Christmas card with a Tilda stamp I hadn't used yet. She is stamped in Versafine Smokey Grey and water coloured. The green check backing paper is from a Little Sizzles pad and the circle is cut from a Christmas DCWV pad with a spellbinder die. The sentiment is a PSX stamp which I love. Added glitter and embellishments from my stash.
Chloe made a card for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge -her first ever challenge. She has put it on her blog -Please take a look and leave her an encouraging comment.TIA
