Two Challenges.

Have excelled myself this week and made a card that incorparates 2 Blog challenges. Unheard of for me - I'm never that organised. So below this card is for the The Cute Card Thursday Blog Which is a Sketch by Andrea to follow and also for the Just Magnolia Challenge Blog where the theme is "Anything Goes"

So Changed the sketch a little with the shapes but the basic layout is the same.
I stamped and coloured Tilda with Copics, cut her out and layered her onto nestabilities, one from plain card edged with distress inks and the other with backing paper. Cut and punched a strip of "Little Sizzles" backing paper with Martha Stewart Doily punch to put across the middle. Added the flowers that I coloured with a chalk pad, "Craftwork Cards" sentiment and lashings of gold "Stickles". Edged the main card with distress ink too.
I decorated the inside too with some DCWV backing paper and a Nestabilty edged with Distress ink and gold "Stickles"

Off to work now, have a good day

Penny Black Saturday Challenge Wk 97

Well after being selected as the prize winner for last weeks Penny Black Saturday Challenge I thought it only polite to enter this weeks challege too! LOL...This weeks Penny Black Saturday Challenge wk 97  is to use
MONOCHROMATIC BROWN
on your design... whatever it may be, card, box, notebook cover etc.

Well I knew I had some scrummy polka dot brown paper and a lovely Bear stamp that would lend itself to the project nicely.
I stamped the image in Versafine Vintage Sepia and coloured with Copics and cut him out, I then stamped him again onto an  oval nestability. Layered onto the gorgeous spotty paper. I punched a matching strip of card with a fiskars border punch. I added the "Stamps Away" sentiment, ribbon, punched flowers and of course some gold "stickles" glitter glue to finish.

I haven't spent the yummy Stitch 123 voucher I won from the challenge last week but it's burning a hole in my pocket as I speak...LOL

Thanks For Looking

Tilda Ladybug

Woop,Woop, had a lovely surprise this morning when I found out I'd won last weeks Penny Black Challenge prize which is a $20 voucher for 123 Stitch. Great stuff and a nice way to start the weekend.

Bought this stamp at the NEC, she's so sweet isn't she. Just love the colour red so had to rig her out in the full ladybird colours.

Stamped and coloured her with Copics layered her onto black card and spotty red paper. Cut a strip of black card and used a Martha Stewart border punch down both sides. Layered it onto the card and added the ribbon and bow. Added the sentiment tag and punched hearts to the corners of the image.
Hope you're all having a great weekend.

Penny Black Saturday Challenge Wk 96

Heres my entry for the Penny Black Saturday Challenge wk 96. This weeks challenge is called "Buttons Galore" Well now, I love buttons and often add a few to my cards so this weeks challenge was a pleasure.

Stamped "Country Lady" PB stamp onto a  nestabilitie cut piece of card, coloured her with Copics and added teeny tiny buttons to the flower posy she is holding. Layered her onto a scalloped nestabilitie shape  and then onto some "Rose Garden" pretty backing paper by Papermania. Added the sentiment and flowers with button centres also.
Actually went and did my first bit of gardening of the year this afternoon (thats bad isn't it, it been April and all) Quite pleased with myself although i'm aching a bit now. Still got a long way to go with it but it's a start right!

Thanks for looking

Just Magnolia week 50 "Punch It Out"

Made a card with my Dragonfly Tilda stamp yesterday. Coloured her in blue and yellow then tried to match her up with backing paper etc....... realised while I was doing it I don't really like a blue and yellow colour combo...!
Coloured her with copics and layered onto Little Sizzles backing papers and nesties. The sentiment is a Craftwork cards one layered onto a nestie (off centre now I notice, but it doesn't look as bad IRL!!) Edged the backing paper with matching blue card cut with Martha Stewart doiley punch. Added the flowers, ribbon and gold glitter glue. Mmmm still not sure about it though.

Still I'm going to enter it into the Just Magnolia Challenge blog  as the theme there this week is "Punch It Out" and seen as I've used my lovely Martha Stewart punch I'm entering.
Hope you all have a good start to the week.

Home Sweet Home

Have just moved my crafting essentials down to my dining table as I couldn't face going up into my loft and away from the lovely sunshine we had yesterday. Plus my teenage daughter didn't want me to disappear for the day and leave her on her own revising. So we had a bookshelf surplus to requirements  from decorating my youngest daughters bedroom (she's got a tall one now) so I nabbed that and filled it up with boxes of my stuff, although I scratched the floor moving it (oops) It was lovely to be near the kettle again ......and the washing machine......! My Mum came over (she also crafts) and we sat and stamped and coloured together which was really nice. I did have to make a few trips up into the loft as I kept finding more "essentials" that I needed downstairs. I will probably get sick of the sight of it on my table at some point and move it back again but for now I'm happy with the set up.

Made a New Home card to keep in my card box....just in case, as I was caught out last time when my cousin moved into her new flat.
Used this lovely cute stamp from Onefourzero.  It doesn't really show on here but the card is a lovely pistachio colour. Coloured with copics and cut out with nesties. The "Home sweet home" stamp was also from the Onefourzero set. Edged the card with a piece of "kraft" card and added ribbon and glittered punched out hearts to give it a folky feel.
Have a great day

Dino Birthday card

Made a point of buying some stamps that are suitable for Boys Birthday cards as I don't have many cause the super cute stamps suck me in and say "buy me"..... So here is a Dinosaur stamp I bought at the NEC.

Love the goofy faces on this "Great Impressions" dino stamp. Stamped and coloured with Copics. Layered onto K and Co Hopscotch collection  backing paper. The drippy edge was a sample strip of a Martha Stewart punch I received in with an order for something else. The Happy Birthday To You sentiment is Hero arts. Added buttons, edged card with Old Paper Distress ink and spread lots of drippy green Stickles glitter glue.

Thanks for stopping by

Penny Black Saturday Challenge Wk 95

Haven't done a challenge in a while and decided to enter the Penny Black Saturday Challenge with one of my new  PB stamps. The challenge was "Check It Out" - that is to use checked paper, ribbon etc. I'm afraid I only used a strip of checked ribbon ( yummy doodlebug ribbon mind) and voila here is my entry.

Below is a close up of little froggy to show his lovely glittery bits.......

Off to work now, have a nice day all

Monday, 5 April 2010

Hope everyone is enjoying their Easter Break and haven't OD'ed on chocolate (like myself)...!:-( Have managed to get into my crafty space in the loft and use some of my new stash purchased at the NEC last week.

I used my new nesties, Craftwork cards sentiment, and Magnolia stamp on this one. The Martha Stewart border punch is fairly new too but purchased a few weeks ago somewhere else. I stamped her onto some new card I got from the Craftwork cards stand which was a dream to use my Copics on. You can only just about see in the picture but I stamped and heat embossed in Hologram powder some flowers on the backing paper. Now one of the trends of the moment is putting paper flowers on your cards.........well none of the local florist need worry ....I wont be setting up my own florist shop anytime soon......fiddle,faff, fiddle,faff......give up and just put one on each corner....bloomin heck ... these were meant to be little sprays of flowers with a bit of net behind...ha ha it wasn't happening on my card. So here is a close up of the one flower I used on the corner ( god knows why.)
Spent Saturday afternoon painting an old bucket with stencils and some twigs "off white"
below is the result.

I made it to hang Phoebes coloured in wooden shapes on and to put on the table for the little Easter party we had yesterday for the family.

This is the Easter cake that my eldest daughter decorated.....yum!

My proudest moment over the holiday was seeing my youngest daughter Phoebe learning to ride her  bike without stabilisers.......Go Phoebe.....well done.

Hope you all enjoy the rest of the Easter Break.

Easter Bags

Happy Easter everyone. Can't believe my weeks holiday from work has gone so fast. Went to the NEC Hobbycrafts show last weekend and had a great day with some great company and spent far toooo many pennies but got some really nice bits and bobs, new magnolia stamps, Sizzix die, distress ink pads, bling, sentiment die cuts etc, etc etc..see far too much. The highlight of the day was meeting with Chris, Kim P, Marlene and Sonia who I felt I'd met before but not sure where. All uber talented cardmakers check out their blogs and see for yourselves if you aren't familiar with their work.

One of my purchase's was a sizzix bag die. I love little boxes and bags, So I've made a few, a couple for my two girls and a couple for the neighbours children. Theres not much to the decoration, i've just used stickers that I had in my stash but they look cute. I've filled them with lots of choccy treats and of course a little easter chick in each one.
Hope you all have a lovely Easter
